The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, has reiterated the EU's support for the Libyan Government of National Unity to achieve its goals, unify state institutions and hold elections next December.

Meanwhile, Al-Mangoush said they had agreed that the EU would support stability in Libya, elections and border security whether by training Libyan cadres or by providing technical assistance, in addition to agreeing on the need for a deeper role for the EU in Libya as it "has a positive impact on Libya".
