The elected Presidential Council (PC) members and the Prime Minister (PM) of the Government of National Unity have called on the United Nations Panel of Experts (PoE) to quickly disclose the results of its investigations into ‘allegations of bribery’ during the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF).

They also stressed in a joint statement issued on Tuesday, that anyone who is proven to be involved in corruption will not be allowed to assume any responsibility and will be brought to justice, whatever their qualities, expressing their intention to march towards unifying state institutions, achieving reconciliation and restoring power to the Libyan people to decide their fate through free and transparent elections, according to the statement.

In the same context, the PC members and the PM expressed their intention not to allow the ‘obstructers’ to exploit the current circumstances to thwart the results of the LPDF, disrupt the reconciliation process and frustrate the people's aspirations for a free and dignified life of security, stability and prosperity, as they said.

In the meantime, Agence France-Presse quoted extracts from the PoE report, which confirmed that the votes of at least three participants in the forum were purchased.
