The Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El Sisi, met with the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, and Khalifa Haftar in Cairo on Tuesday, in the presence of Egyptian Intelligence Chief, Abbas Kamel.

The Egyptian Presidential spokesman, Bassam Radi, said the meeting covered the latest developments in Libya as per Cairo's support for the country’s stability in politics and security, which entails Egypt's stability as well.

Radi said El Sisi reiterated that Egypt would continue to coordinate with all Libyan parties to reach holding elections in December, stressing the need to end foreign intervention and the presence of foreign forces and mercenaries in Libya.

The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah is also set to arrive in Cairo on Thursday to attend meetings of the Libyan-Egyptian Joint High Committee with his Egyptian counterpart, Mustafa Madboulli.
