The international community should work to support an intra-Libyan solution to end the country's crisis and stop all foreign interference in Libyan affairs, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Sunday.

During a meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamamra in Cairo, Shoukry stressed the need for all foreign forces, mercenaries, and fighters to exit Libya to achieve the aspirations of its people.

A statement by the Algerian Foreign Ministry said the two sides discussed the latest developments in Libya and the prospects for activating a political solution to end foreign interference in the neighbouring country.

The ministers agreed on the need to intensify coordination within the framework of joint African action in a way that enhances efforts to achieve peace, security, and prosperity on the African continent and the region.

The UN Special Adviser on Libya Stephani Williams arrived on Saturday in Cairo for talks with Egyptian and Arab League officials that the UN mission said will focus on the situation in Libya.
