The Chief of Egyptian Air Force Younis Al-Masri unveiled on Thursday that their warplanes had hit 13 targets in Libya in 2015 saying the strikes were very accurate.

During a press conference, Al-Masri said the airstrikes were conducted on residential areas in eastern Libya claiming no civilians were killed due to the accuracy of the collected information.

“It was a clear message to those who threatens Egypt and its national security,” he noted.

Egypt is a strong backer of Khalifa Haftar’s Dignity Operation. In February 2015, the Egyptian air force bombed Bab Shiha neighbourhood in Derna in retaliation for the murder of 21 Egyptian Copts in Sirte, leaving 7 civilians dead and more than 20 others wounded.
