Egypt said it will reopen its embassy in Tripoli and consulate in Benghazi, as part of boosting diplomatic ties with Libya, very soon.

The announcement came in a meeting for the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi with his Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to follow up on the latter's visit to Tripoli that took place on last Tuesday.

The meeting said Egypt had agreed with Libya to reopen the embassy and consulate as soon as possible, return of Egyptian workers and facilitating transportation between the two countries, in addition to using the expertise of Egyptian companies in Libyan electricity, housing, transportation, and infrastructure projects.

Al-Sisi, in the meeting, reiterated the need to facilitate support for Libyans in all fields to improve economic conditions and regain stability as well as security in the country, besides the support for implementing the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum's roadmap to hold elections on December 24, while Madbouly said they had agreed with Libya to convene the Supreme Libyan-Egyptian Commission in the coming weeks for the first time since 2009.
