Renegade General Khalifa Haftar has incited his supporters to get ready for what he called "Tripoli liberation," a call that would ignite endless bloodshed in the capital that is home for around 2.5 million people.

Spokesperson of Dignity Operation Ahmed Al-Mismari instructed on Wednesday their armed followers in Tripoli to get ready for the fight.

"All military personnel in Tripoli must be ready," he said during his weekly press conference.

Al-Mismari claimed their military operation is in retaliation for the alleged rape of a woman by an armed group in Tripoli and to eradicate terror from the capital.

"Girls have been abducted and raped on daily basis during the past three months in Tripoli," he alleged.

Reacting to the formation of the Presidential Guard of UN-proposed government, he said the Presidential Guard is a recycle of Libya Shield Forces, a group of Islamist-leaning armed brigades.

Al-Mismari also claimed that he would reveal locations of more than 30 ISIS camps in Tripoli.

It's not known how the military operation would be conducted. Dignity Operation has no loyal groups in the capital and any individual acts by armed civilians would be crushed. Dignity Operation depends on Zintani armed groups, which were expelled from Tripoli in 2014, and so-called Tribes Army of Wirshiffana.
