Unknown gunmen opened fire Wednesday at the sit-in protest tent, set up in front of the Misrata Municipality building and calling for its resignation, without causing any causalities among the protesters.

“A Chevrolet passed by the tent in full speed and opened heavy fire, yet no one was shot dead or wounded.” One of the protesters said.

This attack is the most recent in a series of attacks that targeted the sit-in protest tent as it was ransacked by vandals days ago.

The peaceful protest against the Misrata Municipality has reached day number 78 where the protesters demanded the municipal staff leave office in the wake of “negligence of duties” which it was elected for by the city’s residents as well as because of its role in political conflicts away from its lawful specializations.
