Senior Dignity Operation commanders in Benghazi have started to turn against rogue General Khalifa Haftar accusing him of plunging them and their dear ones into war for individual interest and glory.

In a video tape posted on social media recently, Khalid Bu Legheeb, a notorious militiaman, told a meeting of field commanders, including colonel Al-Mahdi Al-Barghathi, colonel Jamal Al-Zhawi,  colonel Wanis Abu Khamadah and other city elders, that they are not fighting in Benghazi for the sake of Haftar.

“If Haftar has a foreign agenda that aims at making himself the ruler of the country and rule us with steel and fire, then he should know that we are not with him because we only fight for the welfare of the country.” Said Legheeb, adding that fighting in Benghazi has been on for more than a year now and only one area has been liberated.

He pointed out that their sons are pushed to the front line to fight and get killed, while the sons of Haftar and the Commander of Haftar’s air force, Saqer Al-Jurooshi, are either in Al-Marij city or outside Libya safe and sound, underlining that if Haftar were honest, he should have sent his sons to the battlefield like they did.

Early this month, spokesperson of Dignity Operation Mohammed Al-Hijazi defected and accused Khalifa Haftar of corruption and bloodshed.
