Chief of staff of Tobruk-based parliament and military governor of the eastern region, Abdul Raziq Al-Nadouri, has signed a contract with US-based Keystone Strategic Advisers (KSA) to lobby for him in Washington.

According to US Justice Department filing, the KSA “will provide strategic political and communications counsel to Al-Nadouri, including developing policy and foreign relations goals, and assisting in developing a democratic and multi-ethnic Libya,”

Al-Nadouri is the first foreign lobbying client for the KSA.

While Libya is witnessing a dire cash crisis, the year-long contract is amounted to $450,000 (around LYD 4.25 million blackmarket rate), which has been already paid in advance. The contract started on December 01.

Al-Nadouri’s approach to US lobbying firms is the second by Dignity Operation commanders to improve their image to US decision makers after the human rights violations and summary executions carried out by their forces in eastern Libya.

Last month, son of warlord Khalifa Haftar, Khalid, signed a $ 120.000 contract with Grassroots Political Consulting LCC to lobby for the role of Haftar’s family in Libya’s future.
