Derna Shura Council told Libyan preachers and Fatwa House that it is ready to assist in achieving security and stability as per the Islamic teachings.

The Council also told, in a statement called “A Call for Reconciliation and Reform”, the elders of the tribes and political parties that it is prepared to cooperate in any matter that spares people the ongoing bloodshed.

It issued also a public amnesty for the tribes (Al-Qubba, Ain Mara, Martuba, Imrazzim, Al-Tamimi, Kersa, and Ras Hilal) which all launched against it many attacks and criminal acts as well as blocking the roads to Derna.

The Council asked Sidi Khalid residents to return to their houses after their area had been secured and after kicking IS militants out of it, pointing out that the fight against “IS” is still on going in Al-Fatayeh district, which is located on the fringes of Derna, saying that its safety is a priority for the Council.
