IS gets big blow in Derna as it loses locations
Derna Shura Council takes key district from IS
The Shura Council of Derna Mujahideen announced on Friday the liberation of Bab-Tobruk neighborhood from IS.
In a statement, the Shura Council said its fighters took full control of Bab-Tobruk, a stronghold of IS militants, and killed some of IS leaders in clashes there.
The SC also called its fighters not to storm houses of IS militants, and urged families of IS militants to hand over their sons to the council.
Protests were held in the city after Friday prayers to show support to the Shura Council in its ongoing war against IS.
