The Derna Shura Council has allowed Daesh detainees, who were captured during the recent crackdown on the terrorist group in the city, to sit for exams in their detention centers.

The Council said it agreed with Derna Education Affairs Office to supervise examinations from inside the prison.

"This initiative was taken out of care, to allow those Daesh followers, who were not involved in the bloodshed, to do their exams inside prison in order not to miss the school year," the Council clarified.

A large number of Daesh elements were arrested and others were killed following the recent armed clashes between fighters of the Shura Council and Daesh militants.
