The Deputy Minister of Interior, Faraj Agaim, said the Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah and people around him are working to fail the efforts of holding elections in December.

Agaim told Al-Marsad newspaper that "they want to demand the rights of Cyrenaica region (east Libya) to which the government didn't commit," adding that their rights in military and security fields haven't been respected and the geographical distribution of government positions wasn't abided by.

"The Prime Minister isn't acting like a head of a national unity government. Dbeibah and his people aren't working on unifying the state as he has withdrawn all authorities from east-based government offices and those of the deputies and some ministers as well." He said.

Agaim accused the PM of appointing  his friends and close people in overseas firms using personal connections without consulting the cabinet, adding that some of those persons are implied in corruption.

"Dbeibah is promoting his elections campaign at the expense of Libyans for elections he doesn't want. He has all the authorities and doesn't want to build the security and military institutions as he deliberately canceled salaries payment for the army that is securing oil and security apparatuses." He added.
