Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah on Sunday said that other batches of Covid-19 vaccine will arrive in succession as planned, confirming that the second batch of 300 to 400 thousand doses will arrive next Wednesday, and by April 11, one million additional doses will be available in the country.

In a televised speech, Dbeibah emphasized that his government is ready to receive any quantity heading for Libya, indicating that the process of acquiring the vaccine was carried out according to specialized committees and studies that proved the success and effectiveness of these vaccines, ranging from 90 to 96%.

On the economic issue, the Prime Minister said that the country's economic conditions are on the way to improvement, as oil production reached 1,300,000 barrels per day.

"The Government of National Unity has taken several steps to ensure food commodities are available in the markets during Ramadan, although the state’s general budget has not yet been approved," Dbeibah said.

He urged the House of Representatives and the High Council of State to quickly approve the budget, referring to the agreement that was made with the Central Bank of Libya regarding the systematic disbursement of salaries at the beginning of each month, starting from April.

He also stressed that his government would continue efforts to unify institutions at an accelerated pace and ensure that the elections are held as scheduled, no later than 24 December 2021.
