The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, said Thursday that the best solution in Libya is activating decentralization, adding that his government has been working on it by transferring authorizations to municipalities.

Dbeibah added in a meeting in Tripoli with about 20 mayors from east Libya, in addition to the Minister of Local Governing and a number of officials, that municipalities have a big responsibility as they are in direct contact with the people.

The Minister of Local Governing, Badr Al-Deen Al-Toumi, said the presence of eastern region's mayors is a reassurance that the municipalities are under the supervision of the Ministry of Local Governing of the Government of National Unity.

The Deputy Minister of Local Governing Mohammed Al-Dressi, said the local governing system should be activated, and decentralization must be supported, adding that municipalities should be supported so they can provide services to the people.
