The Libyan Prime Minister-elect, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, handed over the cabinet of the Government of National Unity (GNU) to the presidency of the House of Representatives (HoR), according to Dbeibah's media office.

The media office added Wednesday that this step is part of the commitment to the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum's (LPDF) roadmap that says the GNU cabinet should be presented to the HoR for confidence ahead of the parliament session scheduled for March 08 in Sirte.

The HoR Speaker, Aqila Saleh, called for convening a full-quorum session in Sirte on March 08 and urged the 5+5 Joint Military Commission to secure it. The 5+5 Commission agreed later to secure the session in which the HoR is supposed to grant Dbeibah's cabinet confidence to lead Libya to elections on December 24, 2021.

The Tripoli-based HoR said it was ready to hold a session to unite the Tripoli and Tobruk parliaments and grant confidence to the GNU in any Libyan city that harbors no foreign forces or mercenaries, adding that the session should be attended by local and international monitors.

Meanwhile, 25 members of Tobruk-based HoR urged for the postponement of the full-quorum session until the UN panel of experts publishes its report on the LPDF members' bribery allegations.
