The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, has canceled the decision by the ex-Head of the Presidential Council and Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord, Fayez Al-Sarraj, in which he established Libyan Media Corporation, thus shutting the body down and ordering an auditing of its and its affiliate entities' assets as well as a reintegration of all employees as per their specialties.

The decision on Tuesday transfered the affiliation of the Libyan Media Corporation's TV channels and other entities to the Government of National Unity, and other Ministries and government bodies.

Al-Sarraj established the Libyan Media Corporation last September and appointed Mohammed Bayo - who was a media spokesman for Gaddafi's last government before 2011 revolution and a staunch loyalist of Haftar and his war on Tripoli in 2019, before changing his rhetoric and becoming on Al-Sarraj's side- as the Chairman, a step widley rejected for reasons like the authority of the government on media and the controversial figure (Bayo) that was appointed as the Head of it.

Bayo was also suspended from work in an order issued by the Audit Bureau, which recommended the government to audit and control the Libyan Media Corporation's bank accounts and funds since Bayo hindered an Audit Bureau committee from doing so, accusing him of abusing power for his own benefit. Bayo replied at the time that the Audit Bureau in Tripoli wasn't legitimate, saying he only recognized the east-based Audit Bureau as legitimate.
