Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has formed a committee to address the fuel shortage crisis inside Tripoli.

The committee headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for District Affairs will be in permanent session until the grounds for its establishment cease to exist.

The committee consists of the head of the Municipal Guard, the director of the General Department of Central Support, the director of the distribution department at the Brega Oil Distribution Company, a representative of the Internal Security Agency, a representative of the Libya Oil Company, the Sharara oil service Company, the Rahila Company, and a representative of the Prime Minister’s Office.

The tasks of the committee include ensuring the rapid delivery of fuel to the distribution stations, identifying the target stations and quantities besides transforming the data to the relevant authorities, ensuring the operation of fuel stations within the city of Tripoli continuously for 24 hours, and organizing the mechanism of fuel distribution to motorists to ensure the safety of workers and customers.

Dbeibah had ordered all gas stations in the municipalities of Greater Tripoli to open within 24 hours. He also obliged filling stations to install a surveillance camera and provide an electric generator.
