The UNSMIL is merely a tool in the hands of a minority group that made it add to the conflicts between Libyans, encourage the dispute and disagreement among them, and motivates the delusions among others, said Mohammed Balrwein, a member of the Constitution Drafting Assembly.

Balrwein addressed the UN envoy to Libya, Martin Kobler, in a letter posted on his Facebook page saying that the UNSMIL was not neutral, nor was it right in dealing with the CDA, pinpointing that the UNSMIL has no right to say where to meet and how to come to terms in the CDA, and it has not got the right to force its desired content in the constitution draft.

He also added that the moving of the CDA meeting location out of Al-Bayda city is a domestic decision and not any other party, adding that it is not under the UNSMIL’s authority or for its best interest to contact some of the CDA members encouraging them to move to Oman.

“Concord among the CDA comes from the consent of all its members on the discussed matters, and what the UNSMIL is trying to do is involve some of those members leading to division and split rival parties, which the Libyan people are better off without.” Elaborated Balrwein.
