The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK) Boris Johnson has reaffirmed to the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj that there is no military solution in Libya and that it is paramount that a political solution is reached to regain stability in the country.
Speaking on the phone with Al-Sarraj on Thursday, UK's Prime Minister said his country recognizes "the Government of National Accord as the only legitimate body in Libya."
Johnson added that negative interventions of some foreign parties had protracted the war and escalated the conflict, adding those interventions must stop.
Al-Sarraj told Johnson that Libyans were very close to reaching a solution but the "military foolishness" that started a war on April 04 aborted the political process.
Al-Sarraj stressed the need for pressuring all parties that support the war to stop and return to the political process.
The conversation covered joint cooperation in different areas of interest.
This comes after a phone call with the new US ambassador to Libya Richard Norland with whom Al-Sirraj discussed the latest developments in the country and the repercussions of the Tripoli offensive.
