The Special Representative of Russian President for the Middle East and Africa Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has reiterated his country's support for all steps that lead to convergence of views between the Libyan parties for peace, stability, and access to elections.

Bogdanov discussed during his meeting with Mohammed Menfi, the Presidential Council Head, in Addis Ababa, on the sidelines of the African Union summit, the latest developments in the political situation in Libya.

Bogdanov said the Presidential Council is a symbol of Libya's unity and its three regions and lauded its steps to unify state institutions, including the military establishment, and reach a comprehensive national reconciliation, a statement by the PC head media office said.

For his part, Menfi reiterated the PC's keenness to reach parliamentary and presidential elections, according to a constitutional basis agreed upon, which results are deemed legal by all parties, and the establishment of a comprehensive national political, social and economic reconciliation.
