The commander of the Sirte-Jufra Operations Room of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Ibrahim Baytelmal, has reiterated respect for the 5+5 Joint Military Commission, saying they are, however; dismayed at the dubious movements of the other party.

Baytelmal told reporters Thursday that there are violations of the ceasefire agreement due to the massive number of Russian Wagner Group and Sudanese Janjaweed mercenaries near the lines of contact, adding that their trust in the other party has been shaky over the last period since the start of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement because the other party hasn’t yet withdrawn mercenaries.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Sirte-Jufra Operations Room, Abdelhadi Drah, said Thursday that the Libyan Army's confidence in Haftar forces' commitment to the ceasefire agreement was "shaky", adding that they support the 5+5 commission and reopening the coastal road to end people's suffering, yet Haftar's commitment to the ceasefire and withdrawal of his mercenaries are doubtful.

Drah said last week that Haftar's forces had breached the ceasefire agreement when they opened fire on GNA-affiliated forces in southwestern Sirte in what he described "another violations since the signing of the ceasefire in last October".
