The Head of the parallel government, appointed by the House of Representatives, Fathi Bashagha, said that his government was formed by a Libyan-Libyan decision, as he put it, and it will not allow violence to break out in the country.

In a video speech broadcast by his media office, he said that clinging to power is a type of dictatorship, and that defending it with arms is terrorism.

Bashagha clarified that he would not accept anyone who imposes himself on the Libyans by force of arms or buying others with money, as he put it.

In a message addressed to his government opponents, he explained that his government did not come to take revenge or settle scores, and that they are an integral part of Libya, which will be for all without exclusion, tyranny or treason.

Military groups had tried few times to enter Tripoli by force and failed, in addition to the recent threats made by Major General Osama Juwaili, the former commander of the Volcano of Rage Operations Room, who said in press statements that he was ready to launch a military operation in the event that the current Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dbehbiba did not hand over power to Fathi Bashagha.
