One person was killed and five others were injured in clashes between Fursan Janzour Brigade and armed groups from the so-called Tribes Army – whose loyalty goes to Khalifa Haftar’s Operation Dignity – in Sayad district.

The casualties are from the Fursan Janzour Brigade, as the Tribes Army-affiliated armed groups said nothing to the media.

“We’ve clashed with a gang from the Tribes Army over the killing of one of the gangsters when he was trying to steal a car on the road, which was coupled with him opening fire on our fighters, who eventually shot him down.” The spokesman for the brigade, Abdelhamid Egnis said.

He added that the armed groups attacked the Brigade 17 of the Fursan Janzour Brigade, which was positioned in western Tripoli power plant in Janzour, after they heard that the plant received millions-of-dollars-worth equipment and machines because they wanted to steal them.

“However, the brigade thwarted the attack and pushed them out of the district.” Egnis added, saying the Fursan Janzour Brigade has not received any support by Tripoli security brigades nor by the governments.

The districts, which are located western Janzour are under the control of the so-called Tribes Army groups, are seeing intermittent clashes – either between the armed groups and Janzour security brigades or an internal fight among the armed groups for power.
