A security source in Ajilat said one young man was killed after an attack by an armed group on Jadidah police station as well as a security department's outpost.

The source said the Ajilat security department managed Monday evening to contain the attack in Jadidah area after hours-long clash with the armed group.

'The young man who was killed in the clash was from the outlaw armed group. One person was injured from the police station." The source added.

It is not clear whether the attack was prompted by political motives to cast some confusion in support of Khalifa Haftar's forces or just a gunmen attack, knowing that Ajilat and nearby areas are frequently seeing some military movements in support for Haftar.

Observers believe that those movements are just a show of power and a way for Haftar to prove his forces' military might in the far west of Libya so the morale of his fighters on frontlines can be boosted.
