The member of the Presidential Council (PC) Mohammed Emmari Zayid called for breaking away with “selectivity” while tackling the Political Agreement laws, urging for uniting state institutions for better living conditions for all Libyans.

This came to reply to PC member Ahmed Maitig’s statement in which he rejected the appointment of new Health Minister.

“We at the PC have agreed that new ministerial appointments should be away from political compromise and nepotism and should stick to capabilities and qualifications.” Emmari Zayid said.

He said the objection of Mitig to the appointment of the Health Minister is against the good of the government and would hinder workflow at the state institutions.

“We want the PC members to focus on creating better economy, services, and security for all Libyans in the new year.” He further explained.

Mitig called for annulling the appointment of the new Health Minister Ehmid Bin Omar, citing the need to endorse his appointment by the PC.

“Appointment of ministers shall receive accord from all PC members with the majority vote including the Head of the PC.” Mitig added, sending through his office a letter to official authorities saying the Health Minister is still not approved.

He also told the Minister of Finance not to deal with the orders coming from the Health Minister, citing rejection to the individualism of selection exercised by the PC’s Head Fayez Al-Sirraj.
