In a meeting with the Head of Libyan Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj in Libya's capital, the Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum has reiterated that the offensive led by Khalifa Haftar on Tripoli is totally unacceptable.

Boukadoum said Tuesday there could be no military solution in Libya and Algeria would exert all needed efforts to stop the ongoing war.

While Al-Sarraj reiterated that talks about peace in Libya would be in vain unless all hostilities halted, IDPs returned home and assurances that no Libyan city would come under attack were made.

The Head of the Presidential Council informed the Algerian Foreign Minister of the daily violations of the ceasefire by Haftar's forces and the countries supporting them, hailing Algeria's political and diplomatic efforts to stabilize Libya.

The two officials also discussed bilateral relations and the adoption of Berlin conference conclusions, especially the ceasefire and commitments to the arms embargo in Libya.

The meeting was attended by Al-Sarraj's envoy to Arab Maghreb countries Juma El Gomati and Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala. Boukadoum met also with the Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha.
