Algeria reiterated Thursday its support for the efforts of the Government of National Unity that aim at holding fair and legitimate elections.

These remarks came in a meeting for the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra with the Libyan Foreign Minister of Libya, Najla Al-Manqoush.

According to a statement issued by the Algerian presidency, Al-Mangoush said that the Algerian president reaffirmed his country's support for the GNU in order to hold fair elections soon, adding that she had reviewed with Tebboune bilateral relations, saying that the conversation focused on the importance of Libya's stability to the entire region.

A statement by the Algerian Foreign Ministry also said that Lamamra met with Al-Mangoush, and they discussed bilateral relations and reviewed the latest developments in Libya, and discussed Algeria's firm support for the Libyan people in their efforts to prepare for fair and transparent elections in an atmosphere of national reconciliation to enable the Libyan people to choose their representatives freely.
