Public Prosecutor Al-Siddiq Al-Sour has agreed with his Belgian counterpart Johan Delmoul on exchanging information on the ongoing investigations into the Libyan funds.

They also discussed a cooperation agreement to form a governing framework that guarantees the sovereignty, independence, and professionalism of the judiciary system of both countries.

The agreement was reached during a meeting in Brussels on Tuesday. The two sides discussed the outstanding issues and reviewed solutions to combating crime, corruption, and impunity in a way that protects the interests of the two countries.

Al-Sour received a comprehensive briefing from Delmoul on the cases under consideration by the Belgian authorities. The Belgian Public Prosecutor expressed his readiness to cooperate with specialists to end any dispute or judicial dispute.

Al-Sour stressed the right of Libya to protect its funds and investments, stressing that combating corruption and ensuring that there is no impunity is a priority for his office.

He underscored that the judicial authorities in Libya "did not and will not" tolerate any prejudice to these funds and the institutions that own or manage them.
