A member of the High Council of State (HCS), Abd Al-Rahman Al-Shater, said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the face of the state and the identity of Libya in front of the entire world.

Al-Shater added on his Twitter page, saying: “We welcomed the appointment of a young woman to hold such an eminent position in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”

"The blow to Libya’s pride came with the language used by foreign minister Al-Manqoush, which does not represent manner of speaking or our diplomacy, however, it was made with the tongue of those who led an attack on Tripoli, not too long ago". He added.

He expressed astonishment that Al-Manqoush would push against all reasonable allies, whilst recommending aggressors, as he put it.

Al-Shater considered, in the conclusion of his tweet, that the choice of honoring Al-Manqoush with this position, was, in hindsight, a ‘bad choice’.
