Former President of the High Council of State, Abdul-Rahman Al-Sewehli has condemned France’s role in Libya saying “it’s deeply involved in shedding the blood of Libyan people”.

“France is a key partner in the attack on Tripoli”, he said in a tweet.

Al-Sewehli added that France’s leadership of any international movement on Libya cannot be accepted.

He also demanded the Chairman of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj to reject any role or initiative by France to solve Libya’s crisis.

Al-Sewehli was reacting to France’s intention to chair a meeting on Libya next Thursday at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York.

France is one of the key backers of warlord Khalifa Haftar in his ongoing bloody war on the Libyan capital, providing him with sophisticated weapons and military expertise.
