The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj met in Tunisia with President Beji Caid Essebsi on Wednesday and discussed the current developments in Libya and the repercussions of the attack on Tripoli, besides mutual relations.

The media office of Al-Sarraj said the Tunisian President voiced concern about the fighting near Tripoli and reiterated need for the resumption of the political process, saying there can be no military solution to the conflict in Libya.

He also said Tunisia is directly affected by the ongoing unrest in Libya and urges for the end of the fighting as soon as possible.

Al-Sarraj expressed appreciation for the Tunisian stance that looks for stability in Libya and hailed the facilitation of medical treatment for the injuries resulting from the attack on Tripoli.

Al-Sarraj also told Essebsi that Libyan army forces are continuing their battle against the attacking forces until they retreat to their previous positions.
