The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj said Tuesday that the UN arms embargo in Libya should be monitored on all borders not only the maritime ones, stressing the need for a fact-finding committee to work across the country without any political agenda.

In a meeting with European Union ambassadors - members of the UN Human Rights Council - Al-Sarraj said his government went to Geneva out of the sensible concerns about human rights that are bring violated by aggression militias that are targeting civilian neighborhoods in Tripoli on a daily basis.

Al-Sarraj added that the chaos in Libya affects European neighbors whom he called for active assistance in finding solutions to the Libyan conflict, saying the solutions lie in stopping foreign interventions that led to the deterioration of the situation in Libya.

He also described Haftar as the man controlling eastern Libya, accusing him of carrying out heinous violations like forced disappearance, arbitrary detention and other crimes.

"The fair distribution of wealth should be renamed to the actual use of the wealth. The oil revenue goes to the Central Bank of Libya to be distributed all across the country." Al-Sarraj explained.

He also said that 60% of the oil revenue goes to state employees' salaries, some of it goes to fuel subsidies and the rest is used for services and development, adding that the oil blockade by Haftar's loyalists will harm 6 million Libyans.
