The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj arrived Saturday in Algeria and met with President Abdelmajid Tebboune to discuss the latest developments in Libya and bilateral relations.

The Algerian Presidency said in a statement that the visit of the Head of the Libyan Presidential Council is part of intensified efforts by Algeria to resume political dialogue to find a solution to the Libyan crisis.

The statement said solutions for Libya's crisis should respect the will of the Libyan people, the sovereignty and unity of the Libyan territory and end foreign military intervention.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives in Tobruk, Aqila Saleh, also visited Algeria last week as part of the Algerian efforts to resolve the Libyan crisis via political solutions.

Tebboune said earlier that his country was ready to find a political way out of the Libyan conflict, expressing rejection to military solutions, adding that neighboring countries to Libya should be prioritized for finding a solution to this crisis.
