The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj met Wednesday with the Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed in Tunis and reviewed the latest developments in Libya.

Chahed expressed concern over the impact of Tripoli offensive on the lives of civilians, saying there can be no military solution to the crisis and that only a return to the political process is helpful to all Libyans.

Meanwhile, Al-Sarraj hailed the efforts of Tunisia that aim to end the current conflict and for the facilitated medical treatment of the Libyan injured, saying the Libyan Army forces will keep defending Tripoli against the attacking forces till they are defeated or returned to their previous positions.

Al-Sarraj arrived in Tunis on Tuesday and met with the German ambassador to Libya as well as the US chargé d'affaires. They all reiterated the need for an immediate ceasefire and return to the political process under the auspices of the UNSMIL.
