The Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri has visited the US and met with a number of academics and researchers from the Atlantic Council in Washington.

According to the HCS's media office, the US Congress invited Al-Mishri to attend the National Breakfast Day on February 07, which will be attended by the US President, Donald Trump.

The media office added that Al-Mishri will be meeting several US Congressmen and other officials and he will be addressing the congress in a speech titled "Libya's Future," besides his speeches at the Atlantic Council and the National Interest Council.

Al-Mishri, on his first day of the visit, met with US Commerce Chamber's officials and called for the return of American firms to work in Libya, plus the resumption of US investment projects in the country.

The media office of the HCS said US Commerce officials reaffirmed that Libya is a very good place for investment, but voiced concern over security and political vacuums in the country.

Al-Mishri announced last month his resignation from Muslim Brotherhood Group in Libya, saying he is now willing to pay more attention to political work away from partisan preferences.
