The High Council of State (HCS) Head Khaled Al-Mashri, stressed the council’s position on the issues to be discussed at the upcoming Berlin 2 conference on Libya.

According to Al-Mishri, the HCS demands concerned parties to stick to the elections timetable and ensure the integrity of the process. The council also affirms the right of the people to have their say in the draft constitution prepared by the Constituent Assembly.

Al-Mishri made his remarks at a meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Friday.

The HCS deputies Mohammed Baqi and Safwan Almasuri were also present at the meeting, besides several senior Turkish officials, including Defence Minister Hulusi Akar and Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations, exchanged views on regional issues, and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries to serve the interests of both nations, according to a statement by the HCS Information Office.
