The Head of the Libyan High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri said the call by the Administrative Control Authority to lift his immunity is illegal. saying the call is itself a violation of the laws and the internal codes of the HCS as well as those of the authority itself.

In a statement on Wednesday, Al-Mishri said the Head of the authority Nasser Ali Hassan is "an imposter" as many orders were issued for his dismissal, including the House of Representatives and the General National Congress.

"The HCS also accepted Hassan's resignation and then the Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayalla signed an order to send him as the Chargé d'affaires in Slovakia." Al-Mishri added.

He also said that Hassan's decision to call for lifting his immunity is based on political conflicts to impact the HCS's stance which accepted his resignation as he claimed the post of the head of the authority and his financial violations which were subject to investigation by the Public Prosecution.

"I am ready to go before the court as per rightful measures and transparency." Al-Mishri said.

The Libyan Administrative Control Authority ordered on Monday lifting the immunity of Khalid Al-Mishri.

The authority ordered the lifting because of an investigation into Al-Mishri's alleged financial and administrative violations when he was the head of the financial commission of the General National Congress.

The Head of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sirraj, appointed Sulaiman Al-Shanti as head of the authority to replace Nasser Ali Hassan at the recommendation of the HCS.

However, HCS member Naji Mukhtar and PC members Ahmed Mitig, Fathi Al-Mijibri and Abdelsalam Kajman, called for annulling the appointment of Al-Shanti and keeping Hassan in his post.

The PC members called on the Audit Bureau and the Central Bank's governor to ignore the decision to appoint Al-Shanti as the head of the Libyan Administrative Control Authority.
