Foreign Minister Najla Al-Manqoush discussed with UN envoy Jan Kubis the latest developments in Libya and efforts to end the crisis, leading to the December polls.
The two sides reviewed the outcomes of the recent meeting held in Algeria, which grouped officials from Libya's neighboring countries, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Kubis welcomed the concluding statement of Algeria's meeting and expressed support for its content and recommendations.
Over and above the elections, the two sides touched upon the results achieved by the 5+5 Joint Military Committee in light of the complete and total cease-fire, the reopening of the coastal road linking the eastern and western regions, Misrata - Sirte, and the progress made concerning the exchange of prisoners.
They noted with interest the positive and encouraging steps made so far and expressed their optimism about the findings of the JMC.
In a related context, Al-Manqoush and Kubis discussed the initiative for stability in Libya and the GNU's endeavor to organize and chair an international conference early next month, as the first purely Libyan initiative aimed at developing practical mechanisms for implementing the Berlin 1 and 2 outcomes leading to the general elections next December.
