The Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Mangoush, discussed on the phone with the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, the latest developments in implementing the roadmap of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, UN support for the ceasefire and 5+5 Joint Military Commission understandings, as well as disarming factions and the reintegration of their fighters in state security apparatuses.

Al-Mangoush said the Government of National Unity was looking forward to working closely with the UNSMIL to implement the roadmap and UN Security Council resolutions 2570-2571.

She also called on Guterres to urge all UN humanitarian agencies to resume work from inside Libya instead of working remotely from Tunisia, saying this would signal UN support for Libya to all stakeholders, let alone providing assistance to several cities, especially in the south.

Al-Mangoush told Guterres that Libya condemns the violence and attacks against Palestinians, especially in holy places and in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, calling on the UN to work toward stopping the offensive on Gaza.
