Former Head of dialogue team in the General National Congress, Saleh Al-Makhzoum, who signed Skhirat agreement, described the endeavour of the HoR to remove article (08) from the appendix provisions as a grave violation of the political agreement and an assault on the accord.

In a letter sent to the UN envoy to Libya, Martin Kobler, and the dialogue participants on Tuesday, Al-Makhzoum outlined that the behaviour and statements of the Head of the Presidential council, Fayiz Al-Sirraj, along with other suspending members show their ill-commitment to the authorities given by their positions as per the agreement laws, and thus threatens the success of the whole political process.

“An emergency meeting must be held so that all can reach some common ground measures that guarantee the implementation of the Skhirat agreement and put an end to the violations.” Al-Makhzoum included in his letter.

Also on Tuesday, Anti-Khalifa Haftar signatories of the Libyan political agreement have that the political accord, signed in Skhirat in December, would be collapsed if it the door was opened for amendments.
