The Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Mossa Al-Koni, said holding elections next December is the main goal for them and for all Libyans, adding that elections constitute the biggest challenge and that providing all the needs of citizens in this short period is simply not possible.

Al-Koni also said, in a press conference Wednesday, the executive authority is planning to achieve several goals in the coming months, saying he and a number of Government of National Unity officials would visit south Libya to meat military commanders.

He said the south region's visit aims to continue the efforts to unify the state military institution as it is the biggest challenge for a united Libya, adding that the file of state institutions' unification has seen lots of achievements, but they are waiting for the unification of military and financial institutions.

Al-Koni hailed the work of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission and its success in consolidating the ceasefire and exchanging detainees as well as hoped that its work on reopening the coastal road would succeed, warning that both warring parties "have their hands on the trigger" despite all of the 5+5 Commission's achievements.

He also went over the visits overseas and said the Presidential Council was open to all parties and in contact with all Libya stakeholders, adding that they all discussed assisting Libya to unify institutions and hold general elections next December.
