Libyan Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Mohamed Al-Haddad arrived on Saturday in Russia in a five-day visit aimed at discussing the security situation in Libya and addressing issues of concern, the Africa Intelligence says.

The Libyan Army Chief of Staff will be meeting Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and his deputy, Alexander Fomin.

Al-Haddad seeks to discuss the reunification of the Libyan armed forces while also addressing one of the most controversial points hindering the peace process, which is the command of the Libyan army.

The French website noted that Lieutenant-General al-Haddad's visit to the Russian capital comes a few days after the Algerian's head armed Forces visited Moscow.

The Algerian Army Cheif of Staff Saied Chanegriha discussed during his recent visit to Moscow the Libyan file and other related issues, according to the same source.
