The forces of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos are preparing for the final and conclusive battle with the IS militants in their last hideouts in Sirte, where they will raid residential area 3 and the Sea Buildings in the coming hours, said one of the commanders of the Misrata-led forces, adding that the battle will kick off after the areas seized Tuesday are fully secured especially the residential area 2 and parts of 1.

The commander added that there are lots of mines and explosives that are planted on the streets of those areas, so it will take a lot of time to defuse them, pointing out that IS militants are using the same trick they used before – putting explosives on the bodies of their killed fighters – but the engineering units managed to deal with this trick without casualties.

The military spokesman said also that a suicide bomber from IS blew himself up during the clashes in the residential area 2 Tuesday, but luckily there were no fatalities.

On Tuesday, Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos captured the residential area 2, which is one of the most pivotal last locations for the terrorist group in Sirte, besides the forces also controlled key parts of the residential area 1, leaving IS militants stranded in residential area 3 and some parts from 1.
