Foreign Minister Najla Al-Manqoush, received, on Wednesday, the Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Rizdon Zeninga, to discuss the mission's agenda as its new head Abdoulaye Bathily prepares to start functioning from Libya.

"The meeting reviewed preparation for receiving the UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, to facilitate his work from inside the country and to arrange serial meetings for the envoy upon his arrival in Libya," a statement by the Foreign Ministry said on Facebook.

Zeninga conveyed to Al-Manqoush the UN and its envoy's support for the measures and efforts of the Government of National Unity aimed at holding national elections as soon as possible.

The newly appointed UN mission Head, Abdoulaye Bathily, is scheduled to arrive at a later time in Tripoli to resume the mediation efforts and sponsor the UN-led dialogue and political process between the parties to the Libyan crisis.
