President of the High Council of State (HCS),Khaled al-Mishri has said that at this time last year, many families in Tripoli were spending their Eid in schools and shelters, because of the war waged by war criminal Khalifa Haftar on the capital.

In a speech to the Libyan people on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, the HCS head stressed that the aggression on Tripoli is over. "Those who waged the war on Tripoli reaped nothing but sorrow," he said, underscoring that the victory achieved over the offenders will be a source of pride for all who stood firm in the face of this aggression.

The parliament should be held in one city, says al-Mishri, expressing the HCS's willingness to work with the HoR in order to bring the country together under a unified command.

Al-Mishri considered the current circumstances encouraging and represent an important opportunity to move forward on the path of peace by rejecting division, and to unite for the sake of the country.

"We are certain that we are right, and we call for peace and ending the division. Our call for peace does not stem from weakness, we are determined to uproot the scourge of putschists," the HCS head underscored.

Al-Mashri also addressed in his speech, the IDPs from the eastern and southern region, who had taken refuge in the west, fear of the brutality of Haftar and his militias, promising them that this would be their last holiday away from their homes.
