Victims Organization for Human Rights has called on the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, the Attorney General, the Ministry of Health and all the competent authorities to open an investigation into the death of the child “Maree Mohammed” in the Wadi Al-Shati area, southern Libya, due to the lack of anti-scorpion venom serums in the hospitals.

The organization called in a statement on Saturday, for verifying the reasons for the lack of serums in hospitals and health centers in the southern region, as well as checking what vaccines were dispensed to those areas and determining the mechanism and aspects of the dispensing so that the responsible on such incidents can be identified and brought to justice to ensure that they do not recur in the future.

It also denounced the repeated deaths of children for the same reasons in Ghat, Ubari, Al-Shati, Kufra and other areas of the south, considering this a dangerous indication of a defect that may rise to criminal suspicion or punishable criminal behavior, and a continuation of the state of tampering with the lives of children in the south.
