The Chairman of the Libyan General National Congress (GNC) Nuri Abu Sahmain said on Sunday that there are attempts to get the injured fighters of Derna Protection Force (DPF) outside of the city for medical treatment.

Addressing Libyans in a televised statement on the February 17 revolution's day, Abu Sahmain said the International community had rejected receiving the injured despite the call of the GNC for getting them out even though they would be tried for whatever "labels and crimes" others inflicted on them.

Abu Sahmain said the Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri has been appointed in his position because of the sacrifices of the revolutionaries, denouncing his statements in Washington where he put the Salvation Government of Khalifa Al-Ghwail, GNC, and Gaddafi's loyalists in the same basket.

"I find it strange that Al-Mishri talked about the rule of legitimacy as he was himself the one who lodged a lawsuit against the House of Representatives (HoR) in 2014." The Chairman of the GNC said.

He indicated that all those who signed the Skhirat agreement in Morocco on December 17, 2015 have gained positions either as an ambassador in Senegal or Spain or even heads of state departments or the head of the HCS.

"We have to be frank with the Libyan people about the efforts that aim now to amend the Presidential Council from 9 to 3 members and to hold a National Conference without proper preparations." Abu Sahmain added.

He also blamed the Interior Minister of the Presidential Council Fathi Bashagha for his statements about the southern region, when he stated that Khalifa Haftar is doing a national job in the region, especially that the Skhirat agreement says Haftar must be outside the political and military scenes in Libya.

"All the Libyans who took to the streets to celebrate the revolution day have defied all those who try to end the revolutionary spirit, calling for sovereignty in the country without foreign intervention." Abu Sahmain added.
