The spokesman for the Libyan Government of National Unity, Mohammed Hammouda, said 3000 stranded Libyans in Tunisia did PCR tests and 38 of them were positive with the Coronavirus, adding in a joint press conference with the Health Minister, Ali Al-Zanati, that the people with COVID-19 would be accommodated in isolation until recovery, while the rest who tested negative would return home.

Hammouda said Libya has received 800.000 vaccine doses so far and has vaccinated 450.000 citizens, adding that 500.000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine are en route to Libya while the National Center for Disease Control prepares to vaccinate people in areas where Coronavirus cases are increasing: starting with Al-Khums, Misrata and Al-Zawiya, then Zliten and Zuwara. He urged people to register online as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health said there is a small increase of Coronavirus cases that can be treated at home, adding that hospitals and isolation centers in eastern Libya are accommodating only 14 cases at the intensive care unit and one death as of July 13.

"The virus is now in speedy spread process but less dangerous, yet precaution and preventive measures are needed." The Health Minister added.
